You know what I’ve been thinking? St. John’s Prep certainly got out to a fast start.
The school’s track and field team – helmed by Zach Lankow – took on St. John’s Tuesday and took care of business, 76-19, at New Balance Track in Boston.
When they needed to run fast, they did, when they needed to jump high, they did, and, well, you get the point.
Event winners were Andrew Vigneaux (55m: 6:79; 55HH: 8.16), Brendan Burke (300m: 38.11), Nick Macdonald (600m: 1:23.9), Ryan Levis (1,000m: 2:57), Mateo DeOrio (1 mile: 4:50), Dan Padley (2 mile: 10:17), Tireni Asenuga (HJ: 6’0” ), as well as Aithan Bezanson, Caeden Rogovich, Doug Clement, and Nick MacDonald (4×4).
Lankow, who also coaches spring track and assists cross country, once said, “Whichever season I’m in is probably my favorite.”
Well, with that mindset instilled, his program is off to a good start.
Prep, good week.
